Comparison between static and dynamic elastic moduli of rock mass in a nuclear power plant

Abstract: On-site tests in a nuclear power plant are performed to investigate the space distribution and correlation of dynamic parameters and static parameters. It is indicated that there exists a certain rule between dynamic parameters and depths, but not between static parameters and depths. And developed degree of cracks has an obvious influence on both the dynamic and static parameters. In addition, regression analysis indicates that there exists good correlation between dynamic and static elastic modulus. And the ratio of Ed and Es lies in the range of 0.9–2.19, but it does not change along with the depths. The research has important implications on geotechnical engineering designing and construction
