Study on dynamic unloading effect during process of fragmentizing rock by blasting

Abstract: Based on the analytical solution of sphere cavity loaded with instantaneous load in elastic medium, the influence of dynamic unloading of blasting load on the stress distribution in the medium is studied; then the role of dynamic unloading effect in the process of fragmentizing rock by blasting is discussed further. Some phenomena observed in blasting engineering could be explained with the dynamic unloading effect proposed. Finally the necessity of further studying dynamic unloading effect is illustrated.
