Stability analysis and evaluation of slope reinforced with root piles

Abstract: According to the application of root piles to underpinning engineering and the intrinsic character of root piles, a composite constitutive model of root piles and soil is established in reinforcing slope. Some basic characters, such as change of stress and displacement fields, slope stability after reinforcing slopes and safety factor of slopes, are researched. At last, advantages and defects of two constitutive models are compared in evaluating slope stability. The results show that it is possible to adopt composite constitutive model to evaluate reinforcement of slope stability with root piles.
