Application of gray clustering procedure to classification of expansive soils

Abstract: The application of gray clustering procedure for classification of expansive soil is described. Taking the middle road scheme of the Water Transfer from South to North Project for example, the authors use gray clustering procedure of gray system to classify expansive soils. The result indicates that using gray clustering procedure of gray system to classify expansive soil is superior in solving the problem that it can’t be classified for cross of index in general multiplefactor classification and making mathematization and quantification for classification.
