Analysis of effects of tunnel excavation on underground pipeline

Abstract: Based on ABAQUS program, 3-D finite element analysis model is established to simulate the effects of tunnel excavation on underground pipeline, in which different embedments, material properties and stiffnesses of subjacent bed are considered. The results show that the different soil properties and stiffnesses, caliber of pipeline have great influences on its deformation and internal force. Some conclusions are drawn to provide corresponding guidance for subsequent projects.
