Abstract: Through the site measurement, the load transmitting phenomenon of thick sandy soil on the key roof stratum is found; and the concept of load transmitting factor of key roof stratum load layer is established. By simulating model test of dynamic load transmitting, the “arch type” and “thick arc shell” damage form of thick sandy soil layer upon shallow coal seam in first weighting is revealed. Finally, the formula of load transmitting factor during first weighting is set up. Those research and discovery will make progress on mined soil damage mechanism and dynamic roof structure theory.

Key words: shallow coal seam, thick sandy soil layer, first weighting, load transmitting factor
