Abstract: The four kinds of rock’s acoustic emission(AE) characteristics are tested and analyzed under uniaxial compression. And under crushed statically by gesso and cement mixture, AE characteristics of rock-mass are studied. As results, at lower stress the rock seems to has no AE. In general, when stress arrives at 80 % of rock strength, and rock draws near breach, its AE just increases remarkably. And AE progress of rock breakage is divided into four phases, viz., beginning phase (Ⅰ), tempestuousness phase (Ⅱ), drop phase (Ⅲ) and dreariness phase (Ⅳ). And that Kaiser Effect of some rock is unobvious. Also dominant frequency of rock AE is related to its strength. The more its strength is big, the more the dominant frequency is big. And when the stress increases, the dominant frequency is not budged. In addition, the 1 kHz sensor is suitable to analyze stability of rock-mass and forecast its fall.

Key words: acoustic emission (AE), uniaxial compression, static crushability, spectrum analysis
