Rheological properties of surrounding rock of Xiamen Subsea Tunnel and its characteristic curve

Abstract: Xiamen Subsea Tunnel is the first subsea road tunnel in China. The tunnel passes through the faultages of F1, F2, F3 and F4 where the rock mass is rotten and cracked. Rheological properties of this type of rock are remarkable. A series of triaxial compression rheological experiments are carried out. Experimental results, show that power law creep model can be used to simulate the primary creep and the secondary creep of the rock. Power law creep model and Drucker-Prager yielding criterion are coupled to simulate the nonlinear visco-elastic-plasticity of the rock. Numerical simulation is used to study the deformation properties of surrounding rock of Xiamen Subsea Tunnel and its ground characteristic curve.
