Abstract: It is important to conduct the quality test on railway subgrade compaction in an efficient and reasonable way, which can ensure the project quality and improve the construction efficiency. Based on the test on the coefficient of subgrade reaction (K30) and modulus of deformation (Ev2 and Ev1), the characteristics of two small-sized plate loading tests are compared, the effect laws of test efficiency and test error through two loading modes of deformation stability and equal time intervals are mainly focused on, and the following conclusions are got Ev2, K30 can reflect the compaction degree of railway subgrade in a more direct way. The enduring period of each loading level has exerted great influence on the testing results and it takes longer testing periods to meet the 1% control standards of sedimentation stability. If the control standard of sedimentation stability of K30 test changes from 1% to 2%, or the interval of loading time sets at 6 minites, the testing period can be shortened about 30%-50% of the original time and the test error is within 10% of K30. The load-time control method is proposed in the subgrade reaction coefficient test, which fits the compaction quality test of railway subgrade made of gravel soil very well.
