Analysis of ultimate inner pressure of rings with different tensile and compressive strengths and their application to strength measurements

Abstract: In this article elasto-plastic stress analyses on ring with different tensile and compressive strengths are conducted using generalized twin shear stress strength theory. The elastic limiting inner pressure and plastic limiting pressure, which are dependent on the tension-compression ratio of the material, are obtained. The results are applied to determination of tensile strength of geomaterials.
