Research on nonlinear large deformation and support measures for broken surrounding rocks of deep coal mine roadway

Abstract:

Considering the broken status and the characters of strong nonlinear mechanical phenomenon of surrounding rocks at horizontal return airway in south of Gubei coal mine in Huainan mining area with a depth of 648m below, the deformation & damage process and nonlinear large deformation mechanism are studied by the universal distinct element code (UDEC). Based on the above research, the stepped combined support method is adopted. Through numerical simulation and field monitor measuring, the support method is analyzed and verificated. It is concluded that the deformation and damage process of broken surrounding rocks is gradual, after excavation. The main reason for nonlinear large deformation of roadway and destabilization of some parts is the collapse or sliding of local key blocks. Meanwhile, the long term stability of roadway can be ensured with the stepped combined support method. This support method is an effective method to control nonlinear large deformation of broken surrounding rocks of deep roadway.
