THE EFFECT OF INTERMEDIATE STRAIN RATES ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ROCK

Abstract: This report presents the data of stress –strain and failure strength of two granites and a lamprophyre at the strain rate of 10-4/sec , and 10-1/sec under uniaxial compression .The results of the tests show that ultimate compressive strength and the deformation modulus of rock notably increase within the rate of strain of specimens; There exists a linear retation between lagarithms of the loading rates and strain rates .
