Abstract: When soil mass is affected by environmental chemical factors for a long time, long-term stability of the soil mass will be changed. There is no method for forecasting the stability in engineering field before. In this paper, a scheme forecasting the stability of the soil mass is advanced. The scheme gives a method which combines chemical kinetics with mechanics. The theoretical basis of the method is also demonstrated in detail.
