Abstract: Simple shearing creep carried for a long time (494 day) indicates that the consolidation pressure affects the deformation and failure of clay soil heavily. So in the calculation of data, we must take the consolidation pressure into consideration. Furthermore, there is a time scale effect in the creep tests. In the laboratory, we carried out the balance shearing tests with strain-controlled simple shearing apparatus designed by myself, the test results are compared.
