Fracture Mechanical Analysis for a Periodic Array of Cracks in 3-D Space under Shear Loading

Abstract: The problem of periodic array of cracks in 3-D space under shear loading which is interested in rock fracture mechanics has been investigated. The singular integral equation for the unknown crack opening displacement is derived. Numerical calculation has been taken for rectangular crack and the distribution of stress intensity factors along the crack edge has been obtained.
