Multi-grid solution to adaptive nonlinear FEM and its application

Abstract: A procedure of multi-grid solution to adaptive nonlinear FEM is described in this paper. Numerical analyses on underground cavern excavatio n have shown the effectiveness of the procedure and the advantages o f adaptive multi-grid FEM in the simulation o f excavation process.
