Abstract: For axisymmetric Biot consolidation of columnar cross-isotropic soil-sample, there appears the series solution consists of an elasticity solution which meets inhomogeneous boundary conditions and a quasi-dynamic solution of seepage flow which meets homogenerous boundary. And through numerical example analysis, some Biot consolidation characters and Mandel-Cryer effect of columnar cross-isotropic soil-sample are investigated.

Key words: cross-isotopic Columnar soil-sample, Boit consolidation, analytical solutions, Mandel-Cryer effect
