Effects of different excavating sequences on mid-partition of double-arched tunnel

Abstract: Simulating computation for Shaojiwan double-arched tunnel about two different excavating sequences is carried out; and pays attention to strength, displacement and stability of effects under two excavating sequences. The results show that the mid-partition is a key load-carrying member; the nonsymmetrical excavating will bring eccentrically loads on the mid-partition easily. From the computing results, this paper evaluates the excavating, and gives some opinions on excavating procedure of double-arched tunnel.
