Numerical simulation of static piling consindering large deformation

Abstract: Static piling is the procedure of steady penetration which leads to great compression and large deformation of the soil adjacent to the pile. And it is reasonable that there are errors between the real penetration and the finite element analysis according to traditional small deformation. so new finite element method used to analyze large deformation during piling is presented. The method is based on updated Lagrangian formation (ULF), considering the contract between pile and soil, regarding soil as the Mohr-Coulomb model. The numerical results show that the method can realize the numerical simulation of static piling.
