Abstract: Deformation displacement monitoring provides important information for analyzing the landslide’s structure and genesis mechanism, appraising and forecasting the landslide’s stability and development trend. The analysis of slope example shows that the deformation stages of slope can be more accurately judged; the slope’s stability during its construction and use can be appraised and forecasted when combining the deformation displacement monitoring data with the slope failure phenomena.

Key words: displacement monitoring, slope, appraising and forecasting
