Inverse analysis of initial field stress for underground cavities of a hydropower project

Abstract: In this paper, three-dimensional elastic-plastic finite element method is applied to the inverse analysis of initial field stress for underground cavities of a hydropower project. The results show that the distribution of initial field stress is reasonable, the calculated and measured values are consistent at measured point. It can be considered as the basis of follow-up numerical analysis and the geological model test.
