Stacking model test of Wenzhuang tailings reservoir and its stability analysis

Abstract: Taking the Wenzhuang tailings reservoir as project background, through indoor stacking model tests, the change law of saturation line and particle size distribution are obtained. Based on these results, a mathematical model of fluid-solid coupling in porous media is established; and by using the software of ABAQUS, a planar model of finite elements is established; and through finite element analysis, the stress field, deformation field as well as pore water pressure field in the dam are obtained. The results of model test and numerical simulation can provide instructor for the design, construction and safe production of tailings reservoirs.
