One dimensional consolidation of elastic Gibson soils

Abstract: By the method of Laplace transform, consolidation of elastic Gibson soils under arbitrary loading is studied. The general solution in the Laplace transform field is got, and the effective stress in the soils under arbitrary loading can be calculated by the Laplace inversion. In addition, according to numerical examples, some characters of consolidation of elastic soils are found.
