A spherical cavity expansion-sliding friction calculation model on penetration of pressed-in piles

Abstract: A new method to calculate penetration resistance of pressed-in piles, namely spherical cavity expansion-sliding friction model, is presented. The tip resistance and the side sliding friction resistance of pile are calculated respectively. A computer program, which can plot the calculating curves, is worked out. The calculating result shows that there is a good agreement between the calculated curves and the measured ones.
