Study on particle failure process of calcareous sand under triaxial compression

Abstract: It is presented that the particle slides and itself is damaged simultaneously when loading,which are described by boundary surface plastic model and elastic damaged model respectively, the influence of particle failure on peak stress ratio is considered. Computation shows acoustic emission rises if the confining pressure and consolidation stress ratio increased, further it is discussed from micro-mechanism.
