Three-dimensional FEM simulation of shield-driven tunnel lining during construction stage

Abstract: Jointed segmental concrete lining is the main bearing component of the shield-driven tunnel; its structural properties directly affect the safety of tunnel. So it is very important to understand the realistic structure behavior for the reasonably designing shield-driven tunnel lining. The load distribution on the tunnel lining during construction is significantly different from that during normal using. This paper uses the FEM program which can propose contact problems to simulate the bearing properties of the continue, sequence and stagger concrete lining during construction stage, to gain their stress and deformation rules which will provide useful reference for the design of shield-driven tunnel lining.
