Fitting stress-strain curve of geo-material based on CGP model

Abstract: Emergence, an important concept of complexity theory, is introduced. A method known as CGP(constrained generating Procedure)model for studying emergence in complex system is introduced too. Emergence concept is applied to geotechnical engineering for the first time; and a new methodology based on CGP model to fit the stress-strain curve of geo-material is proposed. An example is studied; and the results show that the proposed method can be applied to fitting the stress-strain curve successfully.
