Load calculation in 3D rigid body limit equilibrium method and engineering application

Abstract: In this paper on the basis of the 3D rigid body limit equilibrium analysis with vector numeric method, the calculations of several common loads are discussed. Especially the algorithms of various assumptions in seepage load calculation are implemented, including node setting method and block height decreasing method in groundwater level definition. It has been applied to the slope stability analysis of Xiaowan Power Station water intake and some results with practical value have been obtained.
