Investigation of stress and deformation of cutoff wall of embankments

Abstract: According to the loads characters and construction procedure of the cutoff wall, the finite element method to calculate the stresses and deformations of cutoff walls is investigated. The conventional finite element method for the earth or rockfill dam is improved. The example shows that the improved method can simulate the construction procedure more accurately.
