Simulation study of excavation process of shallow embedded tunnel for metro

Abstract: Based on basic concepts of stress relief and displacement relief in tunnel excavation process, a FEM simulation calculation for unloading under tunnel excavation is carried out. The effects of tunnel excavation modes on the displacement relief of strata are discussed. The calculation results may be used as a reference for selecting tunnel construction methods.
