The fracturing behaviors of Three Gorges granite under chemical erosion

Abstract: An experiment of rock fracturing process is conducted under uniaxial compression in order to investigate the behaviors of rock fracturing under chemical erosion. The meso-fracturing process of rock is real-time observed using the microscope and the digital color camera. The effects of rock surfaces and mechanical behaviors are studied under different ionic strengths, values of pH and chemical solutions. The fracturing behaviors of rock under chemical erosion are analyzed. The load-displacement curves, the corresponding micro-images and the schematic diagrams of specimens after failure are obtained.
