Discussion on application of hydraulic fracturing method to geostress measurement

Abstract: The fundamental principle of hydrofracturing method for measuring geostress is reviewed. Several parameters which have important effects on the reliability of results obtained from This method, are briefly investigated. And its prospects of hydraulic fracturing method to estimate the state of geostress in deep-hole stress determination are discussed. The trend of geostress measurement at great depth is pointed out.
