Numerical simulation and analysis of ground reaction curve

Abstract: The analytical solution to ground reaction curve of surrounding rock can only be obtained for a circular tunnel; the horseshoe-shaped tunnel, therefore, has to be converted to a circular one. In addition, there are other difficulties such as the determination of initial ground data, initial geostress field and displacement, so it is difficult to design a regular tunnel lining, especially a standard tunnel lining, with the convergence-confinement design method. In the paper, the ground reaction curves of single and double track standard railway tunnels are drawn for different surrounding rock classification and tunnel depths. Furthermore, the variation rules of ground curve of surrounding rock are analyzed for different surrounding rock classification, tunnel depths, tunnel shapes and sizes. It is of practical significance for the application of the convergence-confinement method to the design of railway tunnel lining.
