Abstract: By stress path controlled triaxial tests, the stress-strain curves of 16 standard sand specimens, which were tested along directions 0o, 45o, 90o, 135o, 180o, 225o, 270o, 315o in p-q plane after isotropic and K0 consolidation to a same mean effective stress 150kPa, are presented. The shear and volumetric strains less than 1 % are compared by considering effects of recent stress path, historic stress path and stress path rotation. The change laws of shear and volumetric moduli of standard sand tests with the direction of stress path are found to be similar with the reported test results of Bothkennar clay.
