Fault foundation and its reinforcing measures

Abstract: The faults produced by the deformation and motion of Earth’s crust are distributed on the geotechnical foundation engineering. The fault foundation includes the upper rock mass, lower rock mass and the structure surface. It is necessary that the properties of rock mass, structural surface, deposit history, and structure function are considered in design of building. The principles of design and construction are excavation from ground, non-disturbing, increasing strength, anti-seepage and draining freely. The fault is reinforced by some effective measures including filling, arching, lining, settling well, supporting with column and pile, anchor and so on.
