Numerical simulation of concentration diffusion of harmful gas in heading face with forced ventilation

Abstract: The diffusion of harmful gas is carried out by using numerical simulation of 3-D space under condition of forced ventilation, with the CFD module of ADINA, the software of large-scale finite elements. The flow framework of forced ventilation of tunnel has been obtained. Several vortexes are distributed nearby the heading face, which has great influence on diffusion of harmful gas. The concentration of harmful gas is highest in vortexes center, combining theoretical analysis, the variation discipline of the harmful gas is obtained with the ventilation time. This paper provides the criteria for effective ventilation in heading face of tunnel
