Abstract: Based on the solution of Boussinesq, a model is established; and the model assumes that a cone-shaped load acts on the circinal plane while its radius of a. Then a shield tunnel ground maximum settlement formula during constructions, is derived. The two important parameters are probed into. Then the three results of the Peck method, the formula in this paper and the true value are compared by a real example. Without considering creep of soil, the formula in this paper is closest to the true value.

Key words: shield tunnel, maximum settlement
