Three-dimensional constitutive model of sand considering stress path

Abstract: The stress path is a very important factor effecting soil stress-strain relationship. A new stress-strain increment model considering stress path is proposed based on triaxial compression tests of Japanese Toyoura sand. The dilatancy of sand is described by use of a hardening parameter proposed by authors. The three-dimensional stress-strain behavior of sand is described by a transformed stress tensor based on the Spatially Mobilized Plane (SMP) criterion.
