Abstract: Combined with foundation engineering of south anchor, Runyang Yangtse River Highway Bridge, based on the difference of flow movement characteristics in the different hydrogeology strata, the groundwater flow is modeled during the foundation pit dewatering; and a double layer structure mathematical model is developed. According to the model, the groundwater table of each soil layer can be calculated simultaneously. In the course of dewatering and consolidation of soil layer, the nonlinear changes between hydraulic conductivity coefficient and storativity coefficient and physico-mechanical parameters of the soil-layer are considered. Consequently, the nonlinear coupling calculation method is put forward between deep foundation pit dewatering and settlement. The method provides a new way for the forecast and control of soil body distortion, and the guidance of engineering construction and design.

Key words: foundation pit dewatering, nonlinear coupling, stratum settlement
