Experimental study on effect of water on anchoring performance of resin cable bolts

Abstract: The water has an effect on anchoring performance of resin cable bolts. In some case, water could lead to the failure of cable bolts reinforcement. Based on the cable bolts pull-out tests and long cable bolts installation tests in laboratory, the anchoring capability is studied systematically. The research result shows that water can reduce the cable bond strength about 7 %, reduce the anchoring body uniaxial compression strength about 12 %, and shorten the effective anchoring length about 10 %. The achievement is valuable to the design of roadways cable bolts supporting parameters and the evaluation of reinforced rock masses’ safety.
