null    1990, 11 (1): 19-27.
Abstract192)      PDF(pc) (509KB)(341)       Save
Based on the stress-strain relationship and the properties of peak strength, residual strength, and brittleness of rock material, a perfect strain-softening model and related loading criteria are proposed by using the theory of elasto-plasticity. The physical concepts of this model are very clear with simple parameters, which is convenient for numerical analysis including finite element analysis.

Shearing Dilatency and Isostatic Deformity of Anisotropic Linear Elastic Material Chen Shouyi
Chen Shouyi
null    1990, 11 (1): 41-50.
Abstract229)      PDF(pc) (472KB)(428)       Save
With the algebratical calculation of matrix for general expression of stress-strain relationship of anisotropic linear elastic material, it is shown that the stress-strain behavior for this kind of material depends not only upon mechanical properties of material, but also upon geometric relation between the action direction of deviator stresses and the physical symmetric planes of material. It is demonstrated that global stress tensor causes not deformity, but also volume change. The special dilatency rule for anisotropic linear elastic material is shown more clearly with calculation of a simple example.

Abstract178)      PDF(pc) (392KB)(321)       Save
A new program structure is given in this paper. In the new structure, a large scale computing program is broken down into a number of independent modules. Information is transmitted among different modules by data-base, so that all the modules can be developed, compiled, and especially suitable for small computers where a number of tasks can be done subsequently on small proportion or independently in several microcomputers at the same time. It is easy to develop, understand, and use program to solve practical problems with this kind of program structure.

Since 1967, the study of stability on the dangerous rock masses of Lianziya has been made by our institute. The study includes the relative displacement monitoring of rift, testing study, and estimation of stability, etc. all that are brief reviewed in this paper. The test principle and method of long-term relative displacement monitoring of rift at Lianziya are proposed. The monitoring programs are established, and the monitoring results are analyzed with a conclusions given. The principle and method of testing study into rock and soil media are described, and various mechanical indices are obtained. The stability is evaluated for the dangerous rock masses at Lianziya and the slope at Houziling, according to the material from study.

Development of Capacitive Displacement Transducer
Xie Ye
null    1990, 11 (1): 83-91.
Abstract223)      PDF(pc) (485KB)(328)       Save
The effects of stray parameters mainly from connecting cables on balance equation and sensitivity of bridge are discussed in this paper. It is possible to remove the effects of stray parameters, to a great extent, with a transformer-ratio-bridge adaptable to three terminal measurements. The undefinition of capacitance between two conductors without complete surrounding each other may be eliminated with a three terminal capacitor introduced. Therefore, it is possible to measure small variation of transducer capacity with a transformer-ratio-bridge, if a capacitive transducer is made with three terminal construction. A capacitive displacement transducer, transformer-ratio-bridge, and associated electronic circuit are developed according to this theory. It is shown by testing that a small variation down to 10-3 Pf of capacitance can be measured at 100m long cables, when the carrier frequency is 100KHz. It is also possible to make accuracy measurement at linger cables.

null    1990, 11 (2): 1-14.
Abstract187)      PDF(pc) (806KB)(192)       Save
This paper introduces the structural characters and functions of the rock high pressure true triaxial machine newly developed and some research results with this machine. By the rock high pressure true triaxial machine, three principal stresses can be controlled and changed independently, so that any stress state and stress path in engineering rock mass and earth’s crust can be simulated. It is an important development of Karman type general triaxial machine. By RT3 type rock high pressure true triaxial machine, the maximum principal stress can be applied up to 800 MPa, the intermediate and minimum principal stress up to 200 MPa. The strains and parameters of sonic wave in the directions of three principal stresses can also be determined. The machine is used well for studying the basic theory on rock mechanics, the stability of engineering rock mass and the behaviors of earthquake precursors.

The Farther Study for the Rheological Behavior of Clay Soil and the New Determination Method of Long-term Strength

Abstract211)      PDF(pc) (400KB)(263)       Save
Simple shearing creep carried for a long time (494 day) indicates that the consolidation pressure affects the deformation and failure of clay soil heavily. So in the calculation of data, we must take the consolidation pressure into consideration. Furthermore, there is a time scale effect in the creep tests. In the laboratory, we carried out the balance shearing tests with strain-controlled simple shearing apparatus designed by myself, the test results are compared.

Modelling Study on the Mechanical Behaviors of Composite Joints of Rock

null    1990, 11 (2): 23-37.
Abstract156)      PDF(pc) (834KB)(157)       Save
Shearing mechanical behaviors of composite joints model with consist of two kinds of different characters of joints and various inter-appearances in one plane have been studied in this paper. After a series of experiments on brittle-brittle, brittle-plastic, plastic-plastic type composite joint models, follow conclusions have been gotten. The shearing strength of composite joints has a relation not only with the area of sub-joints, but also with the times of inter-appearances of two sub-joints(K); and the shearing strength of composite joints has a relation with the shearing direction, that is to say, the shearing deformation-failure of composite joints is gradual. These conclusions are very important and useful for practical engineering.

The initiation and propagation of all kinds of micro-fissures in rock results in the weakness of physical-mechanical properties of rock, which is the effect of damage to rock. The pseudo-damage variable ( ,) is defined according to the effect of fissure propagation to marble during Its rupture process. The relationships between stress and strain, and between damage factors D and D are derived. The results of damage testing is well tallied with theory results.
