. 2000, 21 (2):  97-101.
Abstract ( 1022 )   PDF (162KB) ( 713 )
Based on a great number of in-situ tests, the paper presents the relationship of soil resistance vers depth and lateral displacement, the relationship of lateral foundation reaction factor vers soil indexes. Based on the principle of similitude, we have replaced non-linear FEM programming calculation with tabulation method - NL method. Case history of 39 piles has illustrated that the method is of reliable precision and practicability.

Perturbation and finite element analysis for stress-seepage coupled problems in three dimensional oil reservoir
Chen Jie, Li Yaochen
. 2000, 21 (2):  113-118.
Abstract ( 848 )   PDF (208KB) ( 429 )
This paper presents a practical model for oil reservoir in field recovery. Based on stress-seepage coupled variational principles, it is proved, using the perturbation method, that the three-dimensional problem can be reducible to a modified plane-strain problem with variable thickness of the oil formation if the thickness varies slightly in the horizontal direction. The solution then obtained is the zero-order perturbation solution. The global finite element equations are given for the modified plane-strain problem. An example for secondary oil-recovery in hydraulic fracturing is analyzed numerically and the results a represented.

Li Shouju , Liu Yingxi, Wang Denggang;Liu Yujing
. 2000, 21 (2):  126-129.
Abstract ( 670 )   PDF (144KB) ( 399 )
By means of the least square method, the initial stress field parameters are identified according to the measured data of transformation of the rock when the underground tunnel is excavated. Considering the stochastic characteristic, a stochastic method to identify the initial stress parameters in rock mass is established in this paper. The affection of the stochastic characteristic of the transformation measurement is studied as well. The numerical results show that the lower the sensibility of the objective function to the identified parameters, the larger the standard deviation of the identified results, and the worse the identifiable characteristic of the parameter.

A new method for calculation of fracture propagation
She Chengxue
. 2000, 21 (2):  130-133.
Abstract ( 630 )   PDF (132KB) ( 460 )
The embedded softening surface is used to simulate the propagation of fracture in rocks. Based upon the virtual work principle, the equilibrium equations of FEM considering the effect of fracture on deformation are established. And on the basis of the complement virtual work principle, the concrete matrix for the effect of fracture is deduced. As an example, the first type of fracture-cracking problem is analyzed to develop the visco-plastic constitutive relationship on crack surfaces, the visco-plastic FEM calculation procedure is then obtained. Finally , an example is simply calculated to demonstrate the rationality of the proposed method.

Abstract ( 756 )   PDF (130KB) ( 494 )
Two anti-earthquake design specifications for structure and railway are used respectively to judge the liquefaction of tunnel foundation of Nanjing Subway I in this paper. In two specifications, different considerations of factor influencing liquefaction, such as the depth of penetration point , content of clay , the thickness of unliquefied layer and the depth of underground water are analysed in detail. It is considered that different considerations of unliquefied layer result in difference in computations.

Experimental study on dynamic properties of soil modified by superpolymer
Li Yufong;Han Huizeng
. 2000, 21 (2):  156-158.
Abstract ( 672 )   PDF (136KB) ( 452 )
Mud boil, one of the main railway roadbed diseases, has a direct effect on the safe run of trains, because it may cause the decline of roadbed elasticity through softening of bed and hardening of ballast. It is proved practically that chemical grouting can do with it. For evaluating the positive role of the selected super polymer to the soil in roadbed, this paper operates the dynamic triaxial test by simulating the proper ties of soil, the static stress, the cyclic dynamic stress and drainage condition in site. The results show that dynamic strength of the modified soil by super polymer increases in a considerable degree. The dynamic properties also get a conspicuous reformation. Subsequently the positive role is affirmed in engineering practice.

High and steep cut slopes due to excavation are a common sight in building high-grade throughways, the slopes’stability directly affect the safty of construction and operation of the roads in future. In the case of unstable rock slopes with potential sliding surfaces, the prestressed cable or bolt is usually used to reinforce the slopes so as to cut down engineering cost and shorten time limit for the project. Theory of generalized plastic mechanics
Zheng Yingren
. 2000, 21 (2):  188-192.
Abstract ( 789 )   PDF (158KB) ( 1446 )
Experiments show that the classic plastic mechanics fails to reflect the real deformation mechanism of geomaterials because the classic plastic mechanics is based on the hypothesis of the traditional potential theory , the hypothesis of the associated flow rule and the hypothesis of not considering rotation of stress principal axes. The generalized plastic mechanics gives up all these hypo theses and gets all its plastic formulas from solid mechanics directly ,so it ca n be used for both geomaterial and metal.
